Dr. Benjamin A. Guider, Jr. was born in Vicksburg, MS and received his medical degree from the Tulane University School of Medicine in 1972. He performed his Gastroenterology fellowship at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C. from 1975 to 1977. Having received his board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine in 1975, he received his board certification in Gastroenterology in 1977. Dr. Guider served in the US Army from July 1972 to June 1982 and maintains active membership in many professional organizations including the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the Orleans Parish and Louisiana State Medical Societies and the American Gastroenterology Association.
Dr. Guider practiced at the 97th General Hospital in Frankfurt, West Germany before entering solo private practice in 1980. He joined Metropolitan Gastroenterology Associates in 1989.
Dr. Guider’s many articles have been published in various professional journals. He regularly attends seminars and workshops presenting the latest information on developments in the field of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Guider lives in New Orleans with his wife and their three children.
